It was great!  Great crowd, great reports, great sermon, great panel discussion, and six new churches added to the association!  Much, much more!  Thank you, The Bay, pastor Mark Campbell, Music Joseph and Amanda Salmoiraghi, techs Eric and Darrell, and cook Sharon!  You all did great!  Thanks also to many others who worked hard to make this a great Annual Meeting!  Mark your calendars for next year on October 17th, 2015!  On that day we will celebrate our 60th anniversary as an association, and our DOM's 10th anniversary, too!
Congratulations!  You've reached the website of the Long Beach Harbor Southern Baptist Association, with churches in 31 cities of southern Los Angeles County.  Welcome!  We exist to Resource, Assist, Coach, and Equip the leadership of local churches, empowering them to make disciples and launch new churches and ministries.  We are here to empower our pastors and church leaders to run their RACE--Resource, Assist, Coach, and Equip!

Great Thoughts for Thinking: (Changed Mondays & Thursdays.)

Twenty seconds before a race, there’s absolute focus.  The key thing is to achieve relaxation, but at the same time you’ve got to have this absolute total control.  You’ve got to find the balance between being totally ready to go and being really at peace with yourself as well.  –Cathy Freeman

I keep telling my kids—whether you achieve your goal or not is not the most important thing.  Putting yourself in position to achieve those goals is what’s important.  –Steve Scott

The future is not a gift—it is an achievement.  –Harry Lauder

Mrs. Hopewell had no bad qualities of her own but she was able to use other people's in such a constructive way that she never felt the lack.  --Flannery O'Connor (in her short story Good Country People)

Men are so simple and yield so readily to the desires of the moment that he who will trick will always find another who will suffer to be tricked.  --Niccolo Machiavelli

40 Days of Prayer for the Pastors, Churches, Cities, and Requests of the Long Beach Harbor Southern Baptist Association.  See Prayer Resources above for full lists.

Today's SIG Alert!*

Day 5 – Matthew 7.7-8: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.  For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.  James 4.3: When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives.

  1. Pray that we will realize the certainty of answers to our prayers when we ask with the right motives—motives which glorify our heavenly Father.
  2. Pray for the Tower of Praise Christian Church, their pastor Dr. John Calvin III, his wife Fannie and their family, their church leaders, and congregation.
  3. Pray for the Second Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, their pastor Rev. W. J. Glenn, his wife Mary and their family, their church leaders, and congregation.
  4. Pray for the city of Compton, for their elected and appointed officials, for their citizens, and for God’s will to be done in that city.
  5. Pray that God will give our churches Spirit-filled, equipped, motivated, and mature workers to ‘reap the ripe fields around us for the harvest’ (John 4:35), to recruit the lost to faith in Christ Jesus.
