Rev. DeAntwan Fitts, pastor of Peace Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Los Angeles, is celebrating 14 months of Celebrate Recovery Ministry for people who "have hurts, hang-ups, and habits" that harm them.  Pastor Fitts and his congregation begun this ministry and have seen concrete results of lives transformed through it.  This ministry is lead by various leaders and himself.  It is connnected to the Celebrate Recovery ministry of Saddleback Community Church, who sent a team to help them begin it.

In the past year of 2009 they have seen 19 baptisms and 27 new members, many of whom came from this ministry.  During 2009 they had 174 visitor/member forms returned, with 43 member updates, 131 first time guests, 16 baptism inquiries, 15 joining Peace Chapel inquiries, and 8 becoming a Christian inquiries.  In their Small Group Sessions they report 15 Better Together, 21 Way of the Worshipper, 15 Life Together, 75 for 40 Days of Love, and 26 for SHAPE (spiritual gifts inventory).  They have had 27 in Membership Class 101, 53 in Maturity Class 201, and 15 in Ministry Class.  They also had 26 for Contagious Christian training and 15 for Equipping for Excellence Teacher training.  Pastor Fitts has graciously agreed to serve as the Long Beach Harbor Sou Bapt Association Celebrate Recovery Consultant to help any pastor and minister discover how to start this ministry in their congregation.  He can be contacted by calling the church phone at 323-753-9163.
